Finally Updating My Blog

A lot has happened since the last time that we updated our blog (obviously). We bought a house and moved to the city, we bought a Bengal cat, Richard finished his first year of medical school, Bonnie and Emma went to Idaho for 5 weeks while Richard went to Officer Development Training, Emma had her first birhtday, she started walking, and Richard started his second year of med school.

Whew, I think those were all the major events that happened... Oh, we also bought a bike for me and a bike trailer for Emma. Now that everyone has the overview of what has happened, you can choose to read more or stop now. I however feel like I need to go into more detail.

We absolutely love our house! We feel so lucky that we were able to find a house in a good neighborhood a mile and a half from school that we could afford. We have recently painted the kitchen (red brown) and Emma's room (lavender) and it has taken us a while to get used to not having to contact a landlord for everything that we do. We love having our own backyard, and Emma especially loves her swing set.

Our cat, Giovoni aka Von, has been a wonderful edition to our family. Since he is 12.5% leopard we have been able to train him to sit, beg, shake, lay, roll over, and give kisses. Bonnie wants to teach him how to play the piano, but is now wondering if that is way too ambitious. Richard wants to teach him how to use the toilet, so that he won't have to change the litter box ever again. However, training a cat how to use the toilet would be just like potty training a child and we don't know if it's worth that much effort.

Richard had a great learning experience at office development in Rhode Island. He said that he would have 8 hours of school, and 8 hours of physical training every day, and not enough sleep at night. Every time that his unit would get in trouble they would have to go to the sand pit, which was a really deep pit of sand in which they would do push up and sit ups, etc. while they were getting sprayed by a hose. Richard had a posistive attitude about the whole thing, and by the end he had gotten a little more muscle, something that Bonnie really appreciated when he got home.

Bonnie and Emma had a lot of fun in Idaho visiting family. We bounced from house to house for the duration of our stay in Idaho. Besides visiting all of our family, Emma went on her first camping trip. She also loved visiting, and playing with her cousins.

Now our whole family is back in St. Louis, and things have returned to normal with Richard back in school. Bonnie went back to writing her book, while Richard studies, and Emma plays, sleeps, eats, and poops. Recently we have decided to purchase a bike and a bike trailer so that we could go on family bike trips. We rode about 12 miles on Saturday, and had a blast, although we are still recovering. Emma loves her bike trailer and actually fell asleep on the return journey home. We are excited for future excursions on our bikes.

Well, I think that is all the narative that I can type right now without completely boring everyone. I promise that I will post videos and pictures soon, but I currently don't have access to my stash of pictures. Hopefully, the pictures will be up before the weekend. I will set a personal record of updating our blog twice in one week!

Hanging Out With Dad

Emma loves hanging out with her dad! Here she is sitting in her snazzy pink chair.

When dad studies, Emma likes to interrupt and snuggle for a few minutes. Of course, this makes dad extremely happy. Like father like daughter.

It's been crazy in the Pierson home! We've been gearing up to move into the city. We've found a home we love, newly renovated, etc. We're looking to move over spring brake...cross your fingers! We'll send you pictures after we get everything situated.

Also, Bonnie has been baking bread like a mad woman. Last week it was honey wheat, this week...white. It doesn't last long around here. The smell of the bread, combined with it's goodness equals devoured.
